Clara Montero Tellechea studied History of Art, Education and Psychology at the Universities of Heidelberg and Frankfurt (Magister Artium) and worked in art galleries in Zürich before returning to the Basque Country to work in the field of cultural management. In 2012 she was appointed Director for the Promotion of Culture at the Basque Government, where she was responsible for the design and implementation of the ICC policies, and since 2019 she is the cultural director of Tabakalera.
